OMS Surpasses Goal for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fundraiser!!

A couple of weeks ago OMS held an assembly to kick off our Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) fundraising campaign "Pennies for Patients."  We even had a very special guest: Raylin Cooksey.

Raylin is battling Leukemia and is the daughter of our own 8th grade teacher, Nicole Cooksey.  Raylin was an absolute star as she waved to the crowd of 650 middle school students and all the teachers and staff.  You could hear a pin drop as she told her story of what she is battling.

At that assembly OMS took on the challenge of trying to raise a total of $2000 in support of a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma.  This past Friday marked the end of our campaign and I am very proud to announce that students at OMS raised a total of $4,228.49!!!!!!!!!  That is more than double what our goal was!!!!!!

This is a prime example of the kind of student we have at OMS.  An OMS student is kind, compassionate, and caring.  They also know that helping others is doing what's good and right, all day long.

Outstanding work OMS!
